What is Energy Medicine?
Energy medicine balances and harmonizes your body’s energies to improve your physical, emotional, mental and spiritual health and wellness.
Your body has remarkable healing powers. You can optimize your body’s natural capacities to heal and stay healthy, meet stress more effectively, reduce anxiety, manage transitions, and feel your best.
Energy medicine can be provided as a complement to other health care or on its own. It is safe, natural and accessible.
A key component of energy medicine is self-care. You will learn life skills to manage your body’s energies to enhance your health. These practices are quite simple: the key is repetition to firmly re-establish healthy patterns.
The healing process engages electric, electromagnetic and subtle energies in your bio-field (aura), energy centres (e.g. chakras), and along pathways (e.g. meridians). This may involve:
- Tapping or massaging specific points on the body to stimulate energies that conduct through the connective tissue;
- Holding or surrounding an area of the body with the electromagnetic energy of a healer’s hands;
- Using specific postures and movements to reset healthy energy patterns – by creating space for energies to move, cross over, harmonize and interconnect.
Energy medicine practitioners are trained to assess and correct energy imbalances: we do not diagnose, prescribe, or treat medical disorders.

What can you expect from a session?
Each energy medicine session is tailored to your needs.
Energy medicine sessions are held in a safe, relaxing healing environment where you will feel deeply comfortable. I have two treatment rooms in my home:
My sessions involve conversation, learning, relaxation, and revitalization.
Each session begins with your health and wellness goals, then I assess and balance your energies to re-establish optimal flow and harmony. Some assessment may be done standing or sitting. Most energy balancing is done on a massage table where you are fully clothed. Some techniques are hands-on, using a gentle healing touch.
Sessions are 90 minutes long.
At the end of a session, I will suggest self-care for you to do at home to reinforce and integrate the energies we balanced during the session. I will write up your self-care tips at the end of the session or send them to you by email.
Ruth leads a variety of Energy Medicine Workshops tailored to people’s needs and interests.
Energy Medicine is effective at reducing stress, strengthening the immune system and improving concentration and stamina. The basics of Energy Medicine are easy to learn – the exercises and techniques are simple to do.
Workplaces and schools are introducing the quick Daily Energy Routine as part of wellness programs and to improve performance.
Energy Medicine can be applied in a wide variety of settings: health care, schools, colleges, theatre groups, care-giving, hospice and in daily life, with our relationships and caring for loved ones. Energy Medicine is great for hormone issues and managing menopause.
Ruth can customize workshops to meet the needs of any size of group. Whatever you choose, you’ll leave the workshop feeling relaxed and energized, and with new skills and knowledge.

Energy Self Care and Stress Management: (2 two-and-a-half-hour classes)
Learn the Daily Energy Routine and techniques to manage stress.
Energy Self Care and Menopause: (2 two-and-a-half-hour classes)
Learn the Daily Energy Routine and techniques to balance hormones and create resilience.
Energy Medicine for Care Providers: (Series of 4 two-and-a-half-hour classes)
Learn the basics of how energy works in the body, the Daily Energy Routine, the body’s energy systems, energy testing, energy hygiene, and simple protocols you can offer to the people you care for. Some parts of this workshop can be tailored to specific issues (e.g. stress management, pain reduction, digestive issues, musculoskeletal issues)
“Learn, Practice, Rebalance”: For small groups, Ruth recommends a hybrid workshop to Learn, Practice and Rebalance. Each participant receives a hands-on experience of Quick Energy Balancing in addition to learning theory & tools and practicing techniques within the group. Any workshop content can be adapted to this format.
